A table tennis bat

A table tennis bat is used in table tennis to hit the ping pong ball to the other side of the table tennis table. A table tennis bat is generally made of wood with a red rubber on one side and a black rubber on the other.

Table tennis bats come in many different varieties. It is therefore very personal which table tennis bat suits you best. At Heemskerk we have a wide range of ping pong bats, from beginners bats with 1 or 2 stars, to professional table tennis bats with up to 10 stars.

Bats have two colors of rubber for this

Most table tennis players have rubbers with equal properties on both sides of their bat. However, it sometimes happens that players prefer to play with two different rubbers on their bat. To keep the game as fair as possible, the rubbers have different colors, namely red and black. This way the opponent can see with which side and therefore which rubber is hit.

It is therefore mandatory by the international table tennis association (ITTF) to have a red and a black side on the table tennis bat. Which rubber has which properties is the personal choice of the player. At Heemskerk we have opted for equal rubbers on both sides of our table tennis bats. Of course, the properties of the rubbers differ per bat.
