Table tennis is one of the most fun and accessible sports! At least, that's what we think at Heemskerk. Sliding table tennis offers the perfect alternative for anyone for whom regular table tennis is just a bit too difficult. For young and old, for able-bodied and disabled athletes.

There is a wide choice of games that you can play in sliding table tennis. Those games vary in level and you can make your game as easy or difficult as you want. Who are you going to play a game of sliding table tennis with?

What is sliding table tennis?

Sliding table tennis is very similar to 'regular' table tennis. The big difference is (the name says it all) that you don't hit the ball, but slide it over the table with your paddle. Special push-pong bats have been developed for this, which are flat on one side. Together with your fellow player you have to keep the ball in play as long as possible.

In addition to the special push pong bats the exclusive sliding table tennis table has also been developed for sliding table tennis. These tables are available in a standard and a deluxe model and are equipped with side edges so that the ball on the side cannot roll off the table. These edges can be removed from the table, so that the sliding table can also be used as a regular table tennis table.

Who is sliding table tennis intended for?

Anyone who can hold a bat can play sliding table tennis. However, the game is mainly intended for people with a mental or physical disability. With sliding table tennis, for example, blind and visually impaired people can also enjoy the game. If you like table tennis, but you can't play it (for whatever reason), sliding table tennis is the game for you!

By using the sliding table tennis table and the special push-pong bat set, almost everyone can participate in sliding table tennis. It doesn't matter if you have a disability, this is exactly what the game was invented for. The sliding tables are specially designed to keep the balls (possibly with a bell on the inside) on the table. The special raised edges can be adjusted to make the game easier or more difficult.
