How much space do you need for a football table?

It is important to understand how much space or square footage is needed in a playroom, cafeteria or attic so that you know if a football table fits well.
Just like you have to measure for a pool table considering enough space so that everyone can play the game and there is not only enough space for the table but not for the players.
The last thing you want is to buy a table, set it up, and then find out you don't have enough room to move the bars back and forth without hitting the wall.

What size is the playing field?
The playing field of an official ITSF (the international table football association) football table can vary, just like a football field approved by the KNVB. How big is a playing field of a football table? For the dimensions of a foosball field, you can assume a length of approximately 110 to 120 centimeters and a width of 64 to 70 centimeters.

How big is a football table?
A table football should be in a room with enough space around the table, so that the rods and the players have enough space. To determine that space, you need to know how big a football table itself is.
The dimensions of a football table vary. Roughly speaking, you can assume a height between about 1,30 meters and 1,55 meters. In terms of width, you can assume a football table that varies between 75 centimeters and 1,05 meters. These are the sizes without the rods. They are therefore not included in these dimensions.

How much space is needed around the football table?

So how much space do you need in your playroom right now to put a football table. Remember that to make room for people to actually play next to the table, you need to allow about 1 meter on each side of the table for relaxed play, especially for people who are bent over at the table and therefore have a little more space need.
If we assume a football table of 75 centimeters by 1,5 meters, then you have to take into account the following area around the football table:
- 2 meters in length from the table next to the football goals;
- 2,75 meters in width, taking into account the bars and the players.
Also useful to know
There are a few extra things you can take into account, such as whether the football table allows the balls to roll back over the side (Heemskerk Tactic and Soccer School) or whether the balls can be caught behind the goal (Heemskerk Bullet). Football tables with the balls coming back to the side are useful because you can then place the table closer to the wall. Players do not have to retrieve the ball by doing so behind the table's goal.
