Who carries coins in their pockets these days? Hardly anyone left. And that is quite a problem if there is a football table, a pool table or a coin-operated air hockey table in a room. Everyone wants to play, but if they don't have cash with them, that's a problem. See also it article from TU Delft.
That is why many Heemskerk gaming tables have the option for NFC and contactless payments. In this way you are prepared for a cashless society and you can play endlessly thanks to contactless payment. Currently, 2 cashless payment systems are accepted nationwide and both variants can be used on our gaming tables.
With this option it is just like paying for something in the store. A pin module is mounted on the table, which is connected to the mechanism of the gaming table.
When you hold your bank card or credit card (contactless) in front of the pin module, it will process the payment and send a direct signal to the mechanism of the card. pool table, football table or for air hockey table. Also now the balls or pucks are released for the game. This variant is fast and effective and highly invites you to another game.
With this option, nothing else is needed, a QR code stuck on the outside of the gaming table. Of course, technology has been built into the table so that the QR code gives an acceptance to the motor of the table. This releases balls or pucks. The QR code is a direct link to a payment via your phone and bank app.
So you pay safely and quickly via the bank app on your phone and after payment you will be taken to a thank you page. Because the gaming table is linked to the location WiFi network, it can receive this signal and respond to it. Upon successful payment, the balls or pucks are released for play.
As with all other digital payments, there are fees associated with the transactions. However, the user will not notice this. The costs of this are kept to a minimum, by the way. In this way it remains profitable to have a gaming table at your location.
The costs consist of 3 components: the costs for the gaming table, the costs for the technology and necessary subscriptions and the costs for the administration.
There are three options for the cost of the gaming table.
The following applies with regard to the costs for the technology and necessary subscriptions. There are a number of necessary subscriptions and maintenance (remote) to ensure that the technology does its job up-to-date, safely and in a streamlined manner. The costs for this are charged to you monthly.
The following applies to the costs of administration. Heemskerk collects all income from the games on a third party account. Once a month the report is drawn up and the income from the games is transferred to you. A small percentage is deducted for this to cover the costs of these administration and reports.
Is a gaming table for your location a revenue model, should it be cost-effective, or do you see it purely as a service?
It is therefore entirely up to you how high the amount per game should be. Of course we can help you make a choice and help you choose the right place for a gaming table. Common for a football table is 50 cents. For a pool table that is 2 euros and for an air hockey table also 2 euros.
Many companies have successfully gone before you and are very satisfied with both the yields and the convenience.
